let the craziness begin...

I printed out my training program. One page, nice and simple. It's now written on, marked through, & planned out. Still one page. Nice and simple, not so much!

There are two 5ks, one 10k, one 15k, one 1/2 marathon, one 20miler, two sprint triathlons, and one mini tri (+/- a few??!), that I plan on competing in over the next 4.5 months leading up to the ...gulp... San Antonio Rock'n'Roll Marathon. I hope my competing eyes aren't bigger than my training appetite!

Six days a week, I will slave. Three of those days may turn into 2xs a day, unless I wake up early enough to fit weigh training and abs in along with my regular training schedule ( ie. running, biking, and swimming).

Eating calories that COUNT will be something I need to work on. No more snacky, snacks...if you know what I mean! I will trade greek yogurt with fresh fruit in for chocolate chip trail mixes. I am going to sincerely try to curve my thirst for diet coke and diet dr pepper. Why do you two drinks make me drool with lust? I'm not anti caffeine, just anti sodas. That's gonna be rough.

Going to bed early, will be another tough challenge for me to overcome. At least I am a routine person. That will help me when I'm starting out. After a couple weeks it'll be second nature ( I hope).

Day ONE = July 11th. BRING IT!

note:
My gallbladder surgery was June 15. At my 2 week check up (June 28) the Doc gave me the go ahead to resume my normal (ie hard core !!) workouts in "about a couple weeks". Until then I am going to ease back into my workouts lightly (as long as "I listen to my body"). If all goes as planned (recovery wise), July 11th begins my 18 week journey of competing and training, all building up to the full marathon Nov. 13th.
